Sustainable Agriculture: Our Participation in the Future Food Lexicon Lab Thanks to Giuseppe Bruno

Thanks to Giuseppe Bruno’s initiative, our company participated in an extraordinary project within the context of the Future Food Lexicon Lab. This event took place in Reggio Emilia between September and October 2017 and focused on storytelling applied to the world of food. Organized by the Lexicon of Sustainability Agriculture, the project involved 15 international participants with the aim of creating an exhibition for the G7 on agriculture, held in Bergamo. The exhibition aimed to present a vision of a food system centered on people’s needs and desires.

The Future Food Lexicon Lab

The Future Food Lexicon Lab is an innovative masterclass that combines the art of storytelling with sustainable agriculture. The workshop focused on how food stories can be transformed into artworks. Participants collected stories from their own homelands and translated them into artworks using the unique technique of Douglas Gayeton, founder of the Lexicon of Sustainability.

Project Objectives

  • Create an innovative exhibition for the G7 on agriculture in Bergamo.
  • Showcase a model of a food system centered on people.
  • Use storytelling to promote sustainable agriculture.
  • Involve artists and storytellers from around the world for international collaboration.

The Exhibition “People Practice Power”

After intense days of work and collaboration with Douglas Gayeton, the masterclass culminated in the opening of the “People Practice Power” exhibition in Bergamo from October 11 to 13. Currently, the exhibition is traveling across Europe, carrying a message of sustainability and innovation.

Our Contribution: “Striking Oil”

Our contribution to the exhibition is a photograph ironically titled “Striking Oil.” This image tells the story of a farmer who, through the study and rediscovery of organic farming, has created a new model based on ethics and quality. This model is involving an increasing number of farmers, creating an ecosystem founded on good practices.

The Story behind “Striking Oil”

Giuseppe Bruno chose to include this story in the PRACTICE section of the exhibition. The PRACTICE section is dedicated to telling the experiences of people actively participating in a revolution in the agricultural sector. These individuals inspire each other to undertake sustainable and innovative practices.

“I wanted to tell this story, including it in the exhibition in the PRACTICE section because it features people who are participating in this revolution, inspiring each other to do the same.” – Giuseppe Bruno
