The mill and the box
Cold extraction and packaging in wooden boxes
The oil in the wooden Bag-in-Box follows the same cold extraction cycle within 6 hours of harvest used for the entire Peranzana line: hammer milling below 25 °C, filtration, and storage in stainless steel under nitrogen.
The extra step is packaging: the multilayer bag is housed in an untreated pine wood crate, branded with the Agricola Piano logo. The crate protects the bag from damage during shipping and is designed to be reused — as a basket, magazine rack, or bottle holder — once the oil is finished.
Storage
How to keep the Bag-in-Box in the wooden box after the gift
Deliver to the recipient with the crate closed. Once opened, leave the bag inside the crate: the wood acts as an additional shield from light and temperature changes. Keep in a cool, dry place, away from stoves and south-facing windows.
Once the oil is finished, the bag is recyclable in plastic collection, and the crate can be reused: fruit basket, magazine rack, or wine bottle container. Shelf life 18 months from the production date printed on the crate.

What exactly does the Wooden Bag-in-Box contain?
The oil is identical to the one in the 500 ml bottle: ICEA-certified organic monovarietal Peranzana extra virgin olive oil from the 2024/2025 batch, with 0.18% acidity, 454 mg/kg total polyphenols, 7.5/9 Panel Test, medium fruity with notes of artichoke, almond, and green tomato. Only the packaging format changes.
Why does the Bag-in-Box preserve better than a bottle?
The inner bag is flexible and contracts as the oil is dispensed from the tap, without ever introducing air. Oxygen — the main cause of oxidation and polyphenol decay — never comes into contact with the oil: the last drop is protected as much as the first. Shelf life 18 months.
Can the wooden container be reused?
Yes. The wooden outer container is designed to be reused: once the 3-liter bag is empty, it is replaced with a new one, and the box remains in the kitchen, reducing the environmental impact compared to buying six single-use bottles.
Which colors and codes are available?
